We repair firearms dating around the year 1900 to present day. We base our repairs around the philosophy of design, function and repair. This means you must understand how a firearm is designed, how it is meant to function and then repair what is not functioning correctly. What this means is we don't just swap out parts till we get it fixed. We understand how the firearm was designed to function, and then fix the cause of the malfunction.
After each firearm repair, we clean it, lubricate it properly and check it for function. Only after we are satisfied that the firearm is the best we can make it based on your wishes is it ready to go back to you. We love firearms, and will treat your firearm like we're working on our own.
The picture above is of a Colt 1911 that had the grip safety disabled a decade ago. It also had an ambidextrous safety and worn bluing on the top of the slide. It needed new sights installed as well. We rebuilt the grip safety, and converted the ambidextrous safety to a left side only safety that the customer had requested. The sights had to be specially fitted. We reblued the top of the slide and touched up the other worn bluing while leaving the purplish color orignal bluing on the sides of the slide. All repairs required custom fitting. When the gun was completed, it was equisite, and functioned perfectly. The customer was thrilled with the work.
