Trigger Jobs:

Before we get started, what is a trigger job anyway?  It is not replacing the trigger.  During the manufacturing process or due to wear, tiny burrs can be on the internal parts that interact.  These grind on each other and cause friction. These start above the trigger and affect all parts up to an including the hammer.  When these burrs are all added together, the cumulative affect is a hard, uncomfortable trigger pull.  The parts may have also worn unevenly and may even be wavy instead of smooth.  Sometimes the springs are of the wrong tension.

What we do:  First we analyze what the problem is.  We start by measuring the trigger pull with a guage.  Then we feel for any "graininess" in the feel of the trigger.  We will then very carefully smooth the internal surfaces, check and adjust springs as well  as clean and lubricate the surfaces.  All work is done within the original factory tolerences, especially personal carry defense guns.

What you can expect:  A smooth and lighter pull.  Let me give you an example.  We had a customer who had a new Savage 17 - HMR rifle that his kids had bought him as a gift.  He did not like the trigger pull.  It had a 8 1/4 pound trigger pull and felt grainy when you pulled the trigger.  We were able to fix it.  When finished it had a 4 1/2 pound trigger pull and was as smooth as melted butter.  He was extremely pleased.  Check out the pictures below.
